After a good night’s sleep in one of our two spacious guest bedrooms, each with ensuite bathroom, you will be ready to indulge in a delicious breakfast selected from a comprehensive menu that includes home-grown and local produce. Our home is situated a few minutes walk from the centre of the Art Deco city of Napier, including the Conference Centre. It is an effortless drive away from many wineries, Cape Kidnappers’ gannet colony, numerous golf courses, Te Mata Peak lookout, trout fishing, walks and safe beaches.
About Us
Christine’s forebears arrived in New Zealand in 1840 at Coromandel. Her family has been represented in Napier for almost 100 years, her parents having survived the earthquake of 1931.
Her brother (a talented sculptor) created the cross that hangs aloft the Anglican Cathedral in Napier. Christine was born and raised in Greenmeadows, a short distance from the Mission Vineyard (the oldest winery in New Zealand).
Graham’s ancestors arrived in New Zealand in 1850 at Christchurch.
He was born and raised in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty. They made their home in this early 1900s dwelling in 2000 and with Graham’s expertise as a craftsman builder readied it for a homestay and opened the door to guests in early 2001.
Christine and Graham have both travelled extensively throughout New Zealand and overseas, and their interests include – trout fishing / golf / gardening / reading and most of all meeting people from other places and sharing life experiences.
